Welcome, SSFS Alumni!
At SSFS, we strive to create exciting ways to keep the spirit of SSFS present in your world. So whether you’re here to relive old memories, connect with classmates, participate in special events, or learn about what’s happening at the School—we thank you for continuing to be a part of our community.
The Alumni Association Steering Committee (AASC) is a group of alumni that meets throughout the year to support the efforts of the Advancement Office, to aid in alumni outreach, and to serve as a resource for SSFS alumni. We strive to preserve and promote the heritage, traditions, and Quaker values that are central to the life and vitality of the School and to the experiences of our alumni while attending SSFS.
Our main goal is to keep former students and faculty engaged and excited about the School. Whether it’s the bucolic 140-acre campus or the close-knit, yet wonderfully diverse community, if you attended SSFS, you know how special this place is.
The AASC regularly collaborates with members of the Advancement Office to plan events and offer opportunities for SSFS alumni to come together and connect with each other, as well as the broader SSFS community of students, parents, faculty, staff, and Trustees. Through signature events such as Alumni Weekend and the Alumni Soccer Games & Turkey Trot, we hope to give our returning alumni a chance to reconnect with the people and the place that helped to shape them in their formative years.
The AASC helps to support and promote student engagement events, such as the Alumni & Friends Speed Networking Evening, and young (college-age) alumni efforts, such as the annual college care package mailing.
We are always open to new members who would like to be a part of the Committee. We meet about four times a year, usually on a Saturday, and will have the occasional phone meeting as needed. Attendance at alumni events is encouraged, but not required. This is a fun working committee that enjoys seeing one another and supporting the School.
Sandy Spring Friends School has played a meaningful role in all of our lives and we hope that you’ll consider joining us! For more information, please contact Associate Director of Alumni Relations Dagmar Caramello '07 at email@example.com.
